Administrative Assistant

Description
Administrative Assistants are integral members of the TAST staff team. As an Administrative Assistant you will be responsible for performing essential administrative functions, managing organization information databases, and providing support to program management staff.
Responsibilities
- Support staff and Executive Director in administrative operations and assigned projects
- Research public policies, education and community outreach best practices, volunteer management and resources, and grant resources for non-profit organizations
- Attend and assist staff with tasks during organization events including staff and board meetings, training sessions, and special program events
- Compile, create, organize, and maintain information databases including registration, inventory, scheduling etc.
- Assist PR team with newsletter
- Assist staff with community outreach initiatives and events such as college or university volunteer fairs and community events
- Complete other duties as assigned
Requirements
- University or college graduate or undergraduate studying in the fields of business administration, commerce, human resource management, arts and science, or social science (i.e. education, community studies, education, social work etc.)
- Solid reading, writing, and communication skills
- Knowledge of internet and Microsoft operating systems including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Works well with an interdisciplinary team in a diverse and dynamic work environment
- Strong organization, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision when required
- Previous work or volunteer experience in community outreach and a passion for working with children and youth, especially from high priority or marginalized communities is an asset
- Fluency in languages other than English an asset

Hours and Location
2-3 hours/week; scheduling is flexible. Mostly virtual with staff meetings held in locations across Toronto.
