Curriculum Developer

Description
As a Curriculum Developer, you will design and compose a fun and innovative course module on a topic in the fields of engineering, applied technology, or math based on your area of interest and/or education expertise, for TAST’s Engineers Got Skillz club or maker space program. Curriculum Developers can either work independently or with a team of peers.
Responsibilities
- Create, compose, and edit a course module for TAST’s grade 5 - 8 Engineers Got Skillz club or maker space program that conforms to the requirements of TAST’s curriculum development scheme
Requirements
- University or college graduate or undergraduate studying in the fields of engineering, technology, science, math, or education
- Sound knowledge of the Ontario Ministry of Education elementary and secondary school science and technology curriculum is an asset
- Solid reading, writing, and communication skills
- Knowledge of internet and Microsoft operating systems including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Strong organization, creativity, and project management skills
- Ability to complete work within period of set deadlines
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision and seek assistance from curriculum advisors when required
- Attend mandatory curriculum developer training session
- Incorporate required module edits and recommendations provided by the Curriculum Review Coordinator
- Previous work or volunteer experience in community outreach and a passion for working with children and youth, especially from high priority or marginalized communities is an asset
- Fluency in languages other than English an asset

Hours and Location
2-3 hours/week; scheduling is flexible. Mostly virtual with staff meetings held in locations across Toronto.
