Junior Accountant

Description

Junior Accountants work in collaboration with TAST’s Executive Director and staff team overseeing administration of accounting and finances, daily operations, and program planning and growth initiatives for the TAST organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounting duties including bookkeeping, payroll, banking, and budget management for day to day operations
  • Support executive board in Treasurer duties
  • Draft budgets for grant funding and program outreach applications
  • Complete other job related tasks and projects assigned by Executive Director

Requirements

  • University or college graduate or undergraduate studying in the field of accounting
  • Previous accounting job experience or education with minimum program GPA of B average
  • Solid reading, writing, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft operating systems including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Works well within an interdisciplinary team in a diverse and dynamic work environment
  • Excellent organization, analysis, and problem solving
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision when required
  • Previous work or volunteer experience in community outreach and a passion for working with children and youth, especially from high priority or marginalized communities
  • Fluency in languages other than English an asset

Hours and Location

Approx. 2-3 hours/week; scheduling is flexible.
